Residents at Ridgeway Rise have been enjoying the rewards of a gardening project, keeping a close eye on the tomato plants they have carefully nurtured over the past few months.
From watering the plants and watching the tomatoes gradually develop to checking when they were ready to pick, residents have been able to get involved throughout the growing process. Once the tomatoes were finally ripe, it was time to harvest them and take them through to the kitchen to be put to good use.

Gardening provides an enjoyable way for residents to spend time outdoors while continuing to enjoy a hobby that may have been part of their lives for many years. Projects such as this also offer a sense of purpose, with residents able to see the results of their time and care.
There was something particularly satisfying about knowing that the tomatoes on our plates had been grown right here at Ridgeway Rise. The project has given residents the opportunity to work together, enjoy their interest in gardening and take pride in seeing their efforts produce something that everyone could enjoy.
It is a simple reminder that meaningful activities can be found in everyday moments, from caring for a plant to sharing the fruits of the harvest. We provide a varied activities programme at Ridgeway Rise that benefits the wellbeing of everyone. To find out more, get in touch with our team today.
