When it comes to our incredible team here at Ridgeway Rise, we know how important it is for them to get the recognition they deserve. That’s why we always make sure that every single one of our team members gets recognised and supported in any way we can. Ridgeway Rise would be nothing without its residents, but it would be even less without the caring and compassionate members of staff who come into work every day with a smile.
Here at Ridgeway Rise, we implement an Employee of the Month system where team members get the opportunity to vote for their fellow colleagues to recognise them for the hard work and dedication they’ve put into their amazing work, support or attitude that month. Our Home Manager, Bella, often goes on a spontaneous “Recognition Walk” around the grounds of Ridgeway Rise.
During these walks, she stops team members and asks them “what one amazing thing have you done today, or what one thing are you proud of today?”. Then, Bella will pick the most positive story and reward that team member with a little token of appreciation. This is something we love taking part in, and it really helps spread optimism and positivity throughout the home.
Whenever International Nurses Day rolls around each year, we ensure that our nurses feel praised and appreciated. We always buy flowers and gifts for our nurses and team members, because we never want them to feel like they’re not a vital part of our home and an even bigger part of our family. We also make sure we celebrate Glad to Care week, and that we never let a special occasion or milestone go unnoticed.
During the winter months, there’s nothing like Secret Santa to bring a work-family together! The way we celebrate changes with the seasons, and we’re always looking for new ways to branch out and give praise to the team members around us.
