Our End of Summer Fete
As the long days of summer came to an end, Ridgeway Rise was filled with laughter, music and a wonderful sense of community at our End of Summer Fête. The gardens were transformed into a colourful celebration space where residents, families, friends and neighbours came together to enjoy a day of food and friendship.
The atmosphere was lively from the very start, with stalls offering homemade cakes, crafts and refreshments. Our residents especially enjoyed the chance to spend time with loved ones in such a cheerful setting, with the music and laughter carrying across the garden. The BBQ was a popular addition this year, with delicious burgers and Pimms proving to be a favourite.
Entertainment was plentiful, with a mixture of games and activities that appealed to all ages. We had both traditional and current activities on offer for the children and adults including a tombola, raffle, hook a duck and lucky dip. Our DJ kept the energy high with music that encouraged plenty of singing and dancing, and the lively performances created a true party atmosphere.
One of the highlights for many was the dog show, which brought a wonderful mix of furry friends and dog lovers together. The garden was full of wagging tails, and the joy it brought to our residents was clear to see. To make the day even more special, we were also delighted to welcome Heidi the horse, whose visit was a talking point for everyone.
We are hugely grateful to our local sponsors who helped make the day possible. Their generosity and kindness, along with the hard work of our dedicated team, created an unforgettable event. Special thanks go to Coop Highdown, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Gorgeous Hair Salon, Sally Pussey’s, Tawny Owl pub, Amanda’s cakes and Oana’s cakes, whose contributions added so much to the occasion.
Most of all, we would like to thank our residents, families, staff, volunteers and community supporters who joined us on the day. Their warmth and enthusiasm made the fête a true celebration of togetherness. Events like these remind us of the importance of creating moments that bring joy and strengthen the bonds within our Ridgeway Rise family.
