Life Beyond Our Exceptional Care

Short-term care doesn’t mean you shouldn’t receive the same level of comfort or connection as our full-time residents. During their stay, residents can enjoy full use of our facilities, including en-suite bedrooms, quiet areas, a cinema room and a hair & beauty salon. All meals are freshly prepared by our in-house chefs, and each day brings opportunities to take part in gentle activities, socialise with others, or simply enjoy independent time with a book or newspaper.

Our team plans daily life around each individual. Some residents prefer to rest while others actively want to socialise and rediscover hobbies they’ve lost touch with. Whatever pace you choose, we’re here to support it with patience and care.

Our Short-Term Care FAQs

Yes! Our short-term support is available to those who require low-level assistance as well as those with higher dependency needs, such as nursing or dementia care. Get in touch with our team to find out more.

The length of a respite care stay depends on the individual’s needs and the availability of respite care beds at Ridgeway Rise Care Home. However, we do have a minimum stay requirement in place to ensure that residents have sufficient time to settle in and experience the benefits of our services.

We are an all-inclusive care home, meaning all activities and services are included in the weekly fee that our residents pay. During a respite stay, residents have unlimited access to our activities programme, cinema room, quiet areas, hair salon and beautiful garden.

What’s Local to Ridgeway Rise?

During a short stay at Ridgeway Rise, many of our guests enjoy spending time outside the home with each other or their loved ones. Whether it’s a gentle afternoon outing or a quiet moment of reflection, Swindon and the surrounding area offer plenty of suitable places for older adults looking for fresh air, entertainment or simply a change of scenery. We’re always happy to recommend nearby locations that are peaceful, accessible and well-suited to the pace and interests of our residents and respite guests.

For those who enjoy being outdoors, Mouldon Hill Country Park provides a peaceful setting for gentle walks or simply sitting by the water and watching the wildlife. Our residents also enjoy Lower Moor Farm Nature Reserve, which is just outside Swindon, where the flat trails and bird hides offer peaceful opportunities to spot wildlife in a quiet and well-kept setting. Roves Farm is a 15-minute drive away and is also a common favourite with our residents because of the friendly animals, a warm café, and a slow, easy-going atmosphere.

In the warmer months, the Old Town Bowl in Town Gardens hosts outdoor performances such as brass bands and local theatre. It’s a lovely place to enjoy music in the open air, with plenty of seating and a calm atmosphere. No matter the length of stay, these simple outings often create moments of joy and connection, giving residents something to look forward to while they recover, rest or take a break. Our team is always on hand to help plan visits, provide support, and ensure that outings are comfortable, safe and enjoyable for all involved.
